More than 1,000 students from 23 schools in the commune of Assinie were rewarded for their brilliant results during the 2024-2025 school year. The prize-giving ceremony took place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, during the 3rd edition of the Excellence Award, organized by the Well-Being Foundation, in partnership with the Assinie-Mafia town hall.

The ceremony, held at the Royal Square in Assinie, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including administrative authorities, traditional chiefs, ministerial representatives, partner NGOs, teachers, and parents. All welcomed this initiative, which places education at the heart of community priorities.

Maxwell Kouassi, president of the organizing committee and municipal youth leader, opened the ceremony with a speech filled with pride and vision. "Our community must be rich not only in its culture, but also in its knowledge," he said, before paying tribute to the teaching staff. He praised the partners' involvement and urged the students to maintain faith in themselves while cultivating excellence and hard work.

Michelle Aka, founder of the Well-Being Foundation, reiterated the goals of this initiative, which was born from a desire to boost academic performance from an early age. "A well-equipped child is a child better prepared for tomorrow," she said. According to her, each award-winning student represents the best in their class, a distinction that should encourage them to aim ever higher.

Representing the National Education Inspectorate, Ms. Kadiaké Aminata praised the results obtained and the collective work provided by the teaching teams, families and students.

Speaking on behalf of the town hall, Koua Michel, First Deputy Mayor, reaffirmed the municipal council's continued support for this educational initiative. He highlighted in particular the investments made in the sector, namely the construction of new classrooms, the rehabilitation of schools, and the provision of school canoes to facilitate access for students from neighboring villages.

Finally, Ms. N'Goran Soumahoro, representing the Minister of Women, Family, and Children, welcomed this initiative as a strong signal in support of deserving youth. For her, "this celebration recognizes exemplary careers, marked by commitment, rigor, and passion."
